This is for information of all concerned candidates that the Assam Public Service Commission will hold the Written Examination for recruitment to the post of Forest Ranger under Environment & Forest Deptt. from 13-09-2015 to 18-10-2015 at different venues in Guwahati as per programme given below. The venue of the examination is mentioned in the Admission Certificate which will be uploaded in our website apsc.nic.in along with copies of Instruction to candidates and specimen copies of the Answer sheet. The Admission Certificate will be uploaded on 01-09-2015 and candidates will have to download their own Admission Certificate from the above mentioned website.

Carrying Mobile Phones and other electronic articles inside the Examination Hall is prohibited. Any candidate found in possession of such articles inside the examination hall shall be disqualified.

Selection for Direct Recruitment :
The selection process of Assam Public Service Commission starts as soon as the Commission issues advertisements as per requisition received from the concerned appointing authorities of the State Government. The selection process varies from service to service as per provision of concerned Service Rules. There are two types of selection procedures, namely:

Written examination followed by via-voce test based on syllabus recorded in the Service Rules concerned;
Through vice-voce test only. (if the number of candidates is very high in comparison to the number of posts, a scrutiny test is conducted to minimize the number of candidates proportionately, which, of course, depends on the discretion of the Commission).

After completion of the aforesaid two selection procedures, the performances of the candidates are evaluated and recommendation list is prepared on the basis of merit and reservation rules in force and is sent to the appointing authority.
