OAVS Principal & Teacher Syllabus

SYLLABUS FOR PART-I, PART-II & PART -III FOR COMPUTER BASED TEST (CBT) FOR THE POST OF PGTs, TGTs, PET, COMPUTER TEACHER AND ART TEACHER.

PART-I English and Odia Language : 40 Marks
(a) General English (20 Marks):
English Language : Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/detecting mis-spelt words, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts.

(b) General Odia (20 Marks):
Odia Language : Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of Odia Language and will be based on spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/detecting mis-spelt words, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts.

PART-II Current Affairs and Reasoning : 60 Marks
(a) Current Affairs (30 Marks): This section covers like recent development in Sports, Awards, Politics, Finance and Banking sector, International happening, etc.

(b) Reasoning (30 Marks): The Verbal Reasoning topics like Series, Ranks, Direction, Arrangement, Coding, Decoding, Analogy and Classification/Odd Pair, Syllogism and Statement Conclusion.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning topics like Figure Formation, Dice, Triangle, Rule Detection, Images, Completion of Pattern, Mirror Images, Figure Matrix and Paper Folding, etc.

PART-III As per annexure of concerned Syllabus : 100 Marks

Selection Procedure for OAVS Principal & Teacher

1. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in Computer Based Test (CBT), Interview and Performance Test as applicable and specified in these modalities put together. The appropriate Committee constituted by Govt. reserves the right to decide the cut off marks in CBT and Interview separately and the criteria for short listing.

2. However, the mode of selection for all the above posts will be at the sole discretion of OAVS.
3. The decision of the OAVS with regard to the mode of selection to the above posts and eligibility conditions of the applicants for interview shall be final and binding. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
4. The Online Question Paper will be bilingual (i.e., English & Odia Languages Only).
5. The candidates will be required to report at the examination center at least 1 ½ Hours (90 minutes) before the commencement of online examination. Candidates coming late for the test will not be allowed.
6. Time Schedule may change depending upon number of applications received for a particular post.

7. Candidates who will qualify in the CBT and short listed for interview should submit the true copies of documents duly self-certified. The candidates are required to mention on each document “submitted by me “and put their full signature & date on the same. Only those who are called for the interview /Performance test will be required to bring with them the original certificates on the day of verification as decided by the Sangathan, failing which he/she shall not be allowed to appear at the interview. A notice to this effect will be issued later on. If a candidate fails to furnish any original certificates and documents in respect of his/ her qualification will not be entertained for the interview.

The test centers and cities for the examination as mentioned above are subject to change at the discretion of examination authority. While every effort will be made to allot the candidates the city of his/her choice for CBT, examination authority may at its discretion allot a different city/center to the candidate due to administrative and logistic reason(s).
